Favorite Bible Verses
The Christian Post conducted an Internet survey of 37 million Bible references and revealed that 87 of the top 100 favorites are in the New Testament with John 3:16 coming in on top, twice as popular as the second choice of John 1:1. The highest ranking Old Testament verse was Genesis 1:1 finishing in 7th place on the list. My favorite Old Testament verse came in at 28th – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). My favorite New Testament verse ranked 14th in the top 100 – “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). The top ranking book in the Bible was Ephesians. The survey counted how many times a specific verse was referenced on the web. Very interesting. What is your favorite verse? Reply and let’s take our own
survey.
