A Good Work Continuing

There are few things better for a minister than to see the success of those to whom he or she ministered. I just had one of those occasions. Thirty years ago I ministered to and among a group of students at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. That means they are now in their early 50s. Some participated in a reunion this past weekend. I sat in amazement and listened to their life stories and the stories of others they knew who were not present. Their impact literally stretches around the globe. Some have bigger worlds than others, but they are all world changers. I remembered that on good days of ministry as well as on not-so-good days, I claimed, Phil. 1:6, “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it . . .” The work is not complete yet, but it was nice to see its progress. In whom are you investing your life? May God grant you a progress report this week or at least a hint of encouragement.

Please join me in praying for these global concerns:
• Pray for the “More Than Gold” ministry during the Paralympic Games in Vancouver this week.
• Pray for Nena’s ministry among women in the bars of Thessaloniki, Greece.
• Pray those who minister in Eastern Uganda where a mud slide destroyed three villages and killed 300 people, many of them children.
• Pray for Mark’s evangelistic ministry in England, especially sketch board evangelism.
