Helping with Holiness

I confess it is a challenge for me to find many exciting verses in the book of Leviticus. However, one caught my full attention this week. How does God show holiness? There are other answers, but one answer is found in Leviticus 10:3, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be glorified’.” Two things hit me. First: our responsibility. If we do not “come near” to God, holiness cannot be “regarded” as God wishes, thus we must continually “come near” to God. Second: God’s follow-up. When we do our part, God is glorified before all people. Now, I‘m sure God could do all of this without us, but that is not God’s method. God chooses to use people like us. What an honor to be able to help with holiness.

Join me this week in remembering the following global requests:
• Pray for aid groups who are rallying to head off an emerging hunger crisis that threatens as many as 11 million in Africa’s Sahel region.
• Pray for Joe as he attends a session at Kiev Seminary with folks from his church planting team.
• Pray for the School of Transcultural Missions as they complete the school in Lima, Peru on February 29.
• Pray for two couples that are in the process of raising financial support to start a church on Vancouver Island.
