Faith’s Landing Place
The African impala can jump to a height of over ten feet and cover a distance of greater than thirty feet. Yet these magnificent creatures can be kept in an enclosure in any zoo with a three-foot wall. Why? The animals will not jump if they cannot see where their feet will land. If they were to be described in biblical terms, we would say they jump by sight, rather than by faith. Faith is the ability to trust what we cannot see. The writer of Hebrews says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is an absolute necessity in the life of the believer. By faith you were saved; by faith you are being justified; cleansed, and look forward to the return of Jesus. What changes have come in your life because of faith, and how is faith growing in your life? Can you jump, trusting God for your landing place?
Join me this week in praying for the following global requests:
• Pray for a newly formed Bible Study group in Prague and for five non-believing Czechs that are attending the group.
• Pray that God will provide needed volunteers and translators for the Hajdúszoboszló English camp the first week of July, in Eastern Hungary.
• Pray for Canadian churches as they prepare to minister on Canada Day, July 1.
