Partaking of the Manna Prepared for Others
Have you ever communicated something to others only to find you needed it for yourself? Last Monday’s Morning Manna was from Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing” with the emphasis on the “for nothing.” Before the day was over, I needed that advice. I found myself in somewhat of a “Physician, heal yourself” (Luke 4:23) mode. Scheduled for my sixth MOHS skin cancer surgery, I was surprised when the surgeon looked at my cheek, saw two small red spots and asked, “Which one is the one they biopsied?” I didn’t know. Not only did the dermatologist not send a picture following her biopsy, she was on maternity leave and could not be reached for an explanation. The pathology report only showed a basil cell skin cancer without identifying the exact location. So, I had to endure two additional biopsies, then be told that between the surgeon’s schedule and my schedule, the next possible date to have the MOHS Surgery was September 8, a three month wait. On the way home from the Surgeon’s office I was having a private pity party, when I remembered to “be anxious for nothing.” “Lord,” I asked, “does NOTHING include a messed-up MOHS morning?” I think you may know the answer I received. So, be very selective with the advice you pass on to others. You may need it for yourself.
Please join me today in praying for the following global concerns:
