A 24/7 God

I have nearly four hundred friends who participate in a private Facebook group entitled, “Dr. Dan’s Bible Reading Group.”  We read one chapter in the Bible each day and sometimes comment or share personal reflections.  Every now and then, the chapter of the day includes a verse that speaks directly to a need or a circumstance.  Last week was such a case for me.  As many of you know, I have been the lone caregiver for my wife following her Pacemaker implant.  Her left arm was unusable as she recovered from the heart surgery; unable to left her left hand above her left shoulder.  Four days later she fell and sustained multiple fractures, followed by surgery implanting a plate and six screws her right wrist, making her right hand unusable.  Needless to say, my caregiving was around the clock – lifting and helping her sit and lay back down.  Other tasks included feeding her, dressing her, wheeling her around the house, etc. In the midst of this service, the Bible Reading Group came to Psalm 74, where I read verse sixteen, “The day is Yours, the night also is Yours.” (Psalm 74:16).   I paused to give thanks for a 24/7 God.
