Most of the time, I enjoy reading what people proclaim on their t-shirts\/sweat-shirts. This one announced that the person wearing the shirt was, \u201cSelf Made.\u201d From a strictly human perspective, and being a third generation Texan, I understand the meaning. In fact, I\u2019d like to think that at least a part of who I am is \u201cSelf Made.\u201d The trouble with self-made folks is that they tend to worship their supposed creator (self). From a larger perspective, I am not simply \u201cSelf Made.\u201d I am made of parental and grand-parental influence, plus teacher\/professor\/coach input, family\/friend support, and even enemy resistance. Added to all of this is the over-riding fact that I am made \u201cin the image of God\u201d (Genesis 9:6), saved and called by God, with a divine purpose to become more and more Christ-like. With all of this mixture, I can hardly proclaim myself to be \u201cSelf Made.\u201d Rather I am a multi-made, work-in-progress, composite. How about you?<\/p>\n
