I finally bought a Global Positioning System (GPS) but the pronunciation was so poor, I could hardly find my way out of my own neighborhood. And when it told me to exit on Azle Ave., but pronounced it \u201cAh-zel-avie\u201d I gave it to my granddaughter and went back to a map. I do understand the value of a GPS and think it would have saved Moses forty years of hearing his wife say. \u201cWhy don\u2019t you just stop and ask someone?\u201d And Abraham could certainly have used one when God told him to pack up and hit the road, and then, and only then, would he know where he was going (Genesis 12: 1-3). I also thought of Abraham finding his way from Beer-Sheba to Mount Moriah with Isaac, two servants, a donkey, wood, fire, and knife. But on Mount Moriah, when God spared the life of Isaac by providing a ram for the sacrifice, Abraham named the place, Jehovah Jireh, meaning, \u201cGod provides\u201d (Genesis 22:14). Then it hit me. God has a GPS = God Provides System. With all due respect to the Global Positioning System (and I\u2019ll probably buy another one soon), I like God\u2019s GPS better.<\/p>\n
