Some mornings I wake up feeling older than I actually am.\u00a0\u00a0Other mornings I wake up feeling younger.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019ve decided socks are for younger mornings.\u00a0\u00a0I mean if God wanted me to wear socks, He would have put my feet higher up toward my knees.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019ve also learned why old people insist on driving in the far-left lane.\u00a0\u00a0They can\u2019t look back over the left shoulder to see who is in the fast lane beside them. The biggest lie I tell myself is… ” I don’t have to write that down, I’ll remember it”.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m told as you age, you need social support and are encouraged to join groups. Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven’t met yet. But on the other hand, I have everything I used to want when I was much younger. I don’t have to get up early to go to work.\u00a0\u00a0I can take a nap whenever I want to – even if it is still morning.\u00a0\u00a0I don\u2019t have to spend a lot of time at the barber shop. I decided to stop calling the bathroom “John” and renamed it the “Jim”. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.\u00a0\u00a0I do find myself talking to myself a lot.\u00a0\u00a0But then, I often need the advice of a mature person.\u00a0\u00a0I know, I know!\u00a0\u00a0I borrowed some of these ideas from other writers.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019d give them credit, but I can\u2019t remember who they were. \u201cEven to\u00a0your\u00a0old age, I\u00a0am\u00a0He, and\u00a0even\u00a0to gray hairs I will carry\u00a0you!\u00a0I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver\u00a0you\u201d (Isaiah 46:4).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
