That moist taste could come from a beverage you don\u2019t normally (or ever) drink.\u00a0 But these are you\u2019re neighbors. For many of us, the model of neighborhood came from Mr. Rogers, who sang, \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful day in the neighborhood . . .won\u2019t you be my neighbor.\u201d\u00a0 Some of us learned a neighbor quote from English writer and Christian apologist, Gilbert K. Chesterton, \u201cWe make our friends.\u00a0 We make our enemies.\u00a0 But God makes our neighbors.\u201d\u00a0 And then there was this anonymous quote &#8211; \u201cMy neighbor knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning.\u00a0 Lucky.\u00a0 I was still up playing my bagpipes.\u201d Seriously, the Bible records Jesus saying, \u201cYou shall love your neighbor as yourself\u201d (Mark 12:31).\u00a0 Makes one wonder if Jesus ever attend a Chili cook-off or had a neighbor who played the bagpipes?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>D<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently attended our Neighborhood Association\u2019s Chili Cook-Off.\u00a0 That is similar to putting your life in the hands of your neighbors.\u00a0 The un-named ingredient that causes a specific Chile to taste so unique could be anything from Armadillo to Rattlesnake.
