During my college years my future could have made a drastic turn.\u00a0 A friend and I noticed that there would be minor league baseball tryouts in Arizona, and we decided to drive there in his car and participate. We had no hope of ever playing in the major leagues, but we thought just one summer in the lower minor leagues, living in a host family home, eating lots of baloney sandwiches, and taking long bus rides to the hometowns of other league teams, would be a dream come true for us.\u00a0 Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, my friend\u2019s car broke down just before our trip, and we spent the summer attending summer school and dreaming of what might have been. By the following summer\u2019s tryout camps, our focus had turned to Seminary enrollment, and a future in ministry.\u00a0 At some point during my college days, I added a new life verse(s) to my previous one.\u00a0 Now that I think about it, that may have occurred during this almost drastic turn of events. \u00a0Proverbs.3:5-6 says that if we \u201ctrust in the Lord,\u201d lean not on our own understanding, and in all our ways acknowledge Him, \u00a0God, \u201cwill direct . . . (our) paths.\u201d \u00a0We did and He did, and minor league baseball almost lost two possible all-stars. Well, maybe not that big a loss, but at least I got the \u201calmost\u201d part correct.\u00a0 Do you have any \u201calmost\u201d occasions in your past where God directed your path?<\/p>\n
