The church called a Pastor by a unanimous vote.\u00a0 I always tell the prospective pastor that I wish for him at least one negative vote. That way, every time he approaches the pulpit, he looks at the congregation and wonders who voted against him.\u00a0 Tends to keep one humble.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had so many interesting and unusual things happen in these interims, people are always asking \u00a0me, \u201cWhy don\u2019t you write a book?\u201d\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Who in their right mind would read such a book?\u00a0 Prospective pastors wouldn\u2019t read it.\u00a0 It would give them nightmares.\u00a0 Members of Pastor Search Committees would not read the book.\u00a0 They would immediately resign.\u00a0 Church members wouldn\u2019t read the book.\u00a0 \u00a0It would discourage them.\u00a0 Another question I am often asked at such times as these is, \u201cWhere is your next Interim?\u201d\u00a0 Other than God, who knows?\u00a0 Maybe there won\u2019t be another one in which case I will start on this book.\u00a0 Maybe I can get it condemned and then it will become a best seller. \u201cHe Himself gave some\u00a0to be\u00a0apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some\u00a0pastors and teachers,\u201d (Ephesians 4:11).\u00a0 \u00a0I couldn\u2019t find a translation that added, \u201cInterim Pastors.\u201d\u00a0 No wonder it\u2019s such a challenging job. Anyone need an Interim Pastor?\u00a0 I\u2019m available for #31.\u00a0 Have sermons, will preach.
