What do you do when you are having a difficult day? Whenever I think I\u2019m having an especially tough time, I read Job. I find some measure of comfort in the fact that whatever my circumstances, Job had it worse. If you stay with Job to the end, you\u2019ll find an amazing fact. One of the things I love about the Bible is that you find some of the most profound truth in some of the most obscure places. Just seven verses from the end of the book, these words appear: \u201cThe Lord restored Job\u2019s losses when he prayed for his friends. (Job 42:10)\u201d Since Job\u2019s \u201closses\u201d included almost everything, this was no small replacement. And were these the same friends who assured Job that his \u201closses\u201d were a result of sin in his life? How do you pray for friends like that? While I\u2019m not sure exactly how significant Job\u2019s losses were and thus how amazing the replacement was I do take from this verse the importance of praying for \u201cfriends\u201d \u2013 good friends and not-so-good friends. In fact, there is a hint of a promise here that praying for \u201cfriends\u201d may improve our own situation. I believe I can think of a few \u201cfriends\u201d I need to pray for this week.
