I have been studying in preparation for the 2026 teaching sessions for the Valley Baptist Missions Education Center.\u00a0 We will be looking at \u201cBiblical \u00a0Role Models for Church Leadership.\u201d\u00a0 I have rediscovered at least three things to be consistent in every character that we have chosen. For one, they walked with God consistently.\u00a0 You can\u2019t be a godly leader on Sunday if you walk with Satan Monday through Saturday.\u00a0 Second, they gave\u00a0 God their best.\u00a0 When you give God your best, God gives you, His best. Third, when God calls someone to lead, any confusion or hesitancy comes from the recipient, not from God.\u00a0 I won\u2019t teach about every character but invite some of my friends to assist me. \u00a0Every month we will study one Old Testament role model and one New Testament role model. \u00a0So, who are we studying?\u00a0 From the Old Testament, we will look at Abraham, Joshua, David, Moses, Jeremiah, Ruth, Jonah, Jehoshaphat, and Caleb.\u00a0 From the New Testament, we will look at Barnabas, Luke, Peter, Jesus, Paul, Epaphras, John the Baptist, Anna, and the father of the Prodigal Son. \u00a0One of our role-models said to his followers, \u201cBrethren, I urge you to become like me\u201d (Galatians 4:12).\u00a0 A role model is defined as \u201ca person whose behavior in a particular role is imitated by others.\u201d As we teach, this is a phrase that we will be inserting into selected characteristics of each role model \u2013 \u201cbecome like me.\u201d<\/p>\n
