I\u2019ve never been very good at waiting, especially when it is defined as, \u00a0\u201cThe act of remaining inactive or stationary.\u201d\u00a0 I never cared much for remaining inactive, and stationary is not a word friends have used to describe me. \u00a0All things considered, when all things are ready and circumstances are right, I\u2019m ready to act.\u00a0 Patience has never been one of my strong characteristics. However, one of the lessons I\u2019m learning in my advanced years is how to wait. \u00a0It\u2019s not an easy lesson to learn in the midst of aging, when there is not much time left to wait on things, so I still get anxious and impatient. But I\u2019m learning, especially when I read these words from C. S. Lewis: \u201cGod would not make us wait unless He thought there was something good for us in the waiting, and of course, there is Isaiah 40:31 that reminds of the reward for waiting: \u201cThose who wait on the Lord shall\u00a0 renew their strength.\u201d<\/p>\n
