I saw a t-shirt advertised on social media that read, \u201cNever underestimate an old man who still travels in his eighties.\u201d \u00a0In spite of the fact that I don\u2019t wear t-shirts, I was attracted to this one. \u00a0I\u2019ve had a little medical set-back, but I\u2019m not through traveling. \u00a0I still have a monthly teaching commitment with the Valley Baptist Missions Education Center in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas (550 miles from my home in Fort Worth). \u00a0We were booked for a vacation-like riverboat cruise on the Mississippi River when the medical issues hit, and we plan to take that cruise eventually. \u00a0I\u2019ve traveled and ministered in all fifty states, every Canadian Province and in fifty-nine countries of this world, but I still have two additional countries on my bucket list. \u00a0A few years ago, a colleague asked me if I would take his place and go to a West African country to speak to missionaries. \u00a0I quickly replied that I would be glad to go. \u00a0He said I answered too quick, but I reminded him that I answered that question when I was seventeen years old when I told God I would go an where. \u00a0We were singing a song in those teen-age years that was based on Scripture(Matthew 16:24; 1 Peter 2:21), \u201cFollow, follow, I would follow Jesus, anywhere, everywhere, I would follow on.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0Lest I travel alone, the solo sung at our wedding included a word change. \u00a0With apologies to hymn writer, B.B. McKinney, , we sang, \u201cWherever He leads we\u2019ll go.\u201d \u00a0So, at age eighty-four, I ordered the t-shirt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
