As you read this, I will be participating in the Pastor\u2019s Masters Golf Conference at Glorieta, New Mexico. It\u2019s basically an excuse for Pastor\u2019s to gather in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains for what is advertized as a time of \u201cfellowship, spiritual encouragement, and improving your golf game.\u201d Since I find myself in need of all three, it looks to be a great week. In \u201cThe Golfer\u2019s Book of Wisdom\u201d, there is a prayer from Peter Marshall (who obviously knew something about these three needs): \u201cIn the name of Jesus Christ who was never in a hurry, we pray, O God, that You will slow us down, for we know that we live too fast. With all eternity before us, make us take time to live \u2013 time to get acquainted with You, time to enjoy Your blessing, and time to get to know each other.\u201d The Bible says it this way: \u201cNow may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing . . .\u201d (Rom. 15:13). May you find time this week for fellowship, spiritual encouragement and the improvement of your hobby.<\/p>\n
