I attended my college reunion last weekend. Psychologist Joyce Brothers says, \u201cNinety-nine and nine-tenths of people have some anxiety about going to a reunion. The rest are people who are so secure and have done so well they have no intention of going back.\u201d I guess I fit the majority.<\/p>\n
There are several things you ought not to say at a reunion:
\n\u2022 What happened to you?
\n\u2022 I thought you were dead.
\n\u2022 Didn\u2019t you date my wife?
\n\u2022 Is that your husband or your son?
\n\u2022 Working yet?
\n\u2022 Can I borrow a couple of dollars?<\/p>\n
\u201cReunion\u201d is not in the Bible as a word, but it is as a concept. Paul told the believers in Rome, \u201cI long to see you\u201d (Rom. 1:11) and told the believers in Philippi, \u201cGod is my witness, how greatly I long for you\u201d (Phil 1:8). It is good to re-unite with friends we have not seen in awhile. Thankfully God occasionally allows for reunions in our lives. Of course there is coming a wonderful heavenly reunion. Until then, we\u2019ll have to settle for anxiety-filled earthly reunions. Why not make contact this week with an old friend you\u2019ve not communicated with in awhile.<\/p>\n
