This is the week for a transition of power in Washington D.C. and for America. When the Bible exhorts us to \u201csupplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving thanks . . . for all who are in authority\u201d (2 Tim. 2:1-2) is means just that. There is no qualifying prerequisite that allows us to pray only if we voted for the persons in authority. Nor does the exhortation allow us to pray for only certain things about the persons in authority with which we agree and ignore the remainder. Nor is this limited to the President. Senators, Representatives, Cabinet members, etc. are all in positions of authority, either directly or indirectly, over us and should be recipients of our prayers. We pray to the One who was not up for re-election, who is sovereign over the affairs of all \u2013 leaders, followers and dissenters. God bless America and make us a blessing to the nations. Join me in spending some if not much of this week in prayer for America as well as for the following global concerns:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Pray for new and renewed relationships between America\u2019s new leaders and her allies.
\n\u2022 Pray for an easing of tension between America and her enemies in the world.
\n\u2022 Give thanks that after a biopsy was done, it was confirmed that Cathie\u2019s node was NEGATIVE for melanoma!
\n\u2022 Pray for missionaries in Uganda who have finished the translation of New Testament stories and are in the process of getting 25 Old Testament stories translated.
