According to \u201cThe Urban Dictionary\u201d the phrase comes from making sure you are safe by watching what\u2019s behind you when you\u2019re busy looking ahead. Isaiah knew who had his back. \u201cYour ears shall hear a word behind you saying \u2018This is the way, walk in it\u2019\u201d (Isaiah 30:21). The emphasis is on the preposition. When you hear God\u2019s words directing you to God\u2019s way, you walk in that way, not around it, not past it, not over it, not under it, not avoiding it, not ignoring it. As you walk in God\u2019s way, you walk guarded, equipped, challenged, and protected \u2013 even from your back.
