My Aunt, Lucille Gilliam, was ninety-three years old. I conducted her graveside service last Saturday. One of her favorite passages of Scripture was Hebrews 12:1-2, \u201cLet us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus . . . who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross . . . and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.\u201d Her long life of faithfulness to God reminded me that the \u201crace\u201d is sometimes a sprint and sometimes a marathon, but whatever the length of the race, the quality of it is determined by how well one practices, \u201clooking unto Jesus.\u201d Her \u201crace\u201d is now complete and with the ability to look \u201cunto Jesus\u201d forever, her \u201cjoy\u201d is eternally \u201cbefore\u201d her. Heaven gets more attractive with the death of each saint. How well is your race going this week?<\/p>\n
