My parents moved to another city the morning after I graduated from High School. During my college days, when my friends went \u201chome\u201d it was to a place. For me, going \u201chome\u201d was to a place I\u2019d never been before. Going \u201chome\u201d was going to people. I\u2019ve reached the age where a significant number of my long-time friends are going to their heavenly home. Each day the obituary columns of my newspaper carry pictures of people my age. I know heaven is a place. Jesus said it was in John 14:2. I also know that when folks arrive in that heavenly home they are overwhelmed by the beauty of the place. I\u2019m wondering if they are not just as thrilled by the reunion with people. I guess my age is showing through in this Monday Morning Memo and my apologies to my younger readers, but I\u2019m beginning to get a little homesick \u2013 not just for a place I\u2019ve never been before, but for people I miss.<\/p>\n

By the way, the web site is back up and functional. In fact, one of my earlier books, DiscipleShape: Twelve Weeks to Spiritual Fitness<\/em> (now out of print) is available here for FREE<\/a> to be read and\/or used in small groups.<\/p>\n
