A young mother and her daughter were sitting nearby in a restaurant where I was eating breakfast. As they waited for their order, the little girl was singing a song – not a recognizable song, but her own song. She would grow up and learn to sing the songs of others, both good and bad, but in her innocent child-years, she was singing her own song. I watched, listened, reflected, and dreamed a bit of earlier days and earlier songs. But this was a new day and I had a new song taught to me by a little girl, as yet unaffected by the songs of the world. David, the great song-writer of the Bible wrote, \u201cSing unto the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth\u201d (Psalm. 96:1). Ultimately, all believers will sing a new heavenly melody (Rev. 5:9), but for this day, try singing a fresh, new song.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Pray for Dave and Karla as they return to Israel to serve.
\n\u2022 Give thanks for what God is presently doing on Vancouver Island, Canada.
\n\u2022 In Chinese tradition, the 7th month on the lunar calendar is known as \u201cGhost Month\u201d. This year it begins July 31 through and ends August 28. It is believed that the gates of hell are opened to allow ghosts to roam the earth in search of entertainment and food.
