I guess that explains why I no longer have a desire for some of the ministry things that I used to do with gusto. I\u2019m currently reading Billy Graham\u2019s new book, \u201cNearing Home\u201d and it\u2019s reassuring to know that I\u2019m not the first person to face this loss of interest in previously exciting things. It\u2019s nothing serious. My faith is not fading. It\u2019s just little things. Like, I\u2019m fast losing interest in anything that has the word \u201ccommittee\u201d in it. Red-eye flights no longer seem exciting. Lock-ins lost all appeal years ago. My new idea of \u201croughing it\u201d is a hotel with a hard mattress. I\u2019m also not really interested anymore in what\u2019s on my resume. I don\u2019t have to go anywhere or perform any ministry or pay tribute to any human, to pad the resume. I\u2019ve done what I\u2019ve done. I\u2019m not through, but I seem to be pickier these days. \u201cI am who I am\u201d is the response God used in the Bible when Moses asked for His name (Exodus 3:14). Maybe Popeye\u2019s version is a better fit for me: \u201cI \u2018yams whats I ams, and dats all that I \u2018yams.\u201d Can I get some feedback on this Monday Memo? \n\u2022 Pray for those who minister a long way from home during this Christmas season \u2013 Missionaries, Chaplains, etc.<\/p>\n
