In recent days, I\u2019ve lost a few of my Facebook friends. No, they didn\u2019t \u201cun-friend\u201d me nor I them. God called them home. As much fun as Facebook is and as rewarding as it is to re-connect with long-lost friends via Facebook, there is within the social network a subtle reminder that as precious as life is, it comes to an end on this earth. I doubt if God cares much for Facebook, other than enjoying his children having fun. God does understand enjoyment, even to the point of death. The Psalmist records, \u201cPrecious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints\u201d (Psalm 116:15). \u201cUn-friending\u201d a friend on Facebook, while not nearly as difficult as saying good-bye at the graveside, is nonetheless, sorrowful. However, the majority of my Facebook friends are believers, and as such, we grieve, but not \u201cas others who have no hope\u201d (I Thessalonians 4:13). We will be friends again and the heavenly re-connection will be ten thousand times ten thousand more glorious and enjoyable than Facebook.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 The 2012 Summer Olympics have begun in London! Intercede for safety throughout the games for both athletes and spectators and for ministry volunteers. Pray that those who hear the Gospel will take it back to their home countries to share with family and friends.
\n\u2022 Pray for Steven and Tricia as they head back to their field of service on Monday.
\n\u2022 Pray for volunteer teams like the one from Wedgwood Baptist in Fort Worth as they serve this week in Romania.
