Cat Nap or Prayer Partner

I’ve preached to people who wanted to be a cool cat, but I’ve never preached to a cool cat that wanted to hear me preach. Some of you may have seen my post of this story on Facebook. Once posted, I received over 50 comments in the first twenty-four hours. I post it again here so others can comment. I received a note from a lady who watches me preach on TV at First Baptist Church, in Lawton, OK, where I am Interim Pastor. It read, “My cat Bitsy loves you very much. When I watch your program at home, he runs through the house when he hears your voice and sits close to you. When the service ends, he returns to his usual haunts.” The only reference I know of cats in the Bible is when Noah was instructed to take two of each animal on to the arc (Gen 7:2). I’m not sure how far back Bitsy traces his lineage, but I’m fairly positive he has a Baptist heritage since he appears to be asleep in the picture. Then again, he may be praying. Feel free to add your comment by clicking below.

(I tried to add a link to a picture of Bitsy by the TV. You may receive two “Monday Memos” today if the posted picture goes through.)

Join me in remembering these global prayer concerns:
• Pray for missionary kids as they begin school for the fall semester.
• Join hundreds of believers in this month of prayer for Central Europe.
• During the month of Ramadan (Aug 22-Sept 20) pray for global ministries to Muslims.
• Pray for David and Amanda as they adjust to their new city of ministry.
• Pray for a good start to the new school year for the Bible Seminary in Bonn, Germany.
