Goodbye May; Hello June

A friend called the other day and among other things, he said. “You know May was just not your month.”  He was so right.  When it comes to my wife’s health and my caregiver status, it was a challenging month.  While her new Pacemaker was going well, she was now scheduled for the installation of a Watchman to further monitor her heart.  The physical therapy on her broken wrist, was doubled to now include Balance Therapy.  On the personal side, I was having my eyes checked for future double cataract surgery when I returned home with dilated eyes and blurred vision causing me to fall in the kitchen. Nothing broken but troublesome bruises on all my landing places.  Meanwhile the shots for my bleeding retina continue. As May rolled into June, I was in bad need for an encouraging word. Every morning for several years, I have used a web site entitled, “Moravian Daily Texts.”  It shares an Old Testament passage of scripture, and a New Testament passage each day.  On this day, the Old Testament passage was from Psalm 138:6.  The Living Bible paraphrase says,  “Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will bring me safely through them.”  The following verse says, “The Lord will work out his plans for my life” (Psalm 138L8, TLB).  I believe that, so good-bye May and hello June.
